Week 4 Devlog


For this week we collectively decided to work on the mechanics and gameplay for our runner game. The reason we decided to do this was it seemed the most important feature to perfect before moving on to less pressing tasks such as polishing, animation or modelling. Based on playtest feedback last week, we decided to add a few new basic features to the game such as a jump, and changing the variation of the obstacles to add more fluidity and rhythm. We also worked on merging our collective works and we plan to compile all of the best features into a final project version on a github this coming week.

For our final version we aim to have engaging game mechanics and a game sense that encourages players to keep trying after failure. We want to have animations and aesthetic 3D models in our game also. We also potentially will add either an endless mode or multiple levels.
